The Advent Calendar is a German tradition. It typically features an old fashion village with 24 numbered doors --one door is to be opened each day starting on 1 December. Behind each door is a pleasent surprise. The village pictured at left has only eight numbered doors, each for a German Christmas Tradition. Mouse over a number to get a pleasent surprise. If you click on the number you will get an explanation and examples of the corresponding Christmas tradition.
Käthe Wohlfahrt's products are crafted by hand in the traditional way. Many are made in the Weihnachts Werkstatt (Christmas Workshop) located near Rothenburg. The Limited Editions are famous for their superior craftsmanship.
